MESSAGE FROM THE YANG DI-PERTUAN NEGARA (RESIGNATION OF MEMBER FOR HONG LIM)

Mr Speaker: I have to inform honourable Members that on the 29th day of December, 1960, I duly sent a letter to His Excellency the Yang di-Pertuan Negara reporting the vacancy in the Assembly created by the resignation of the Member for Hong Lim earlier on that day.

I received a reply of the same date from His Excellency acknowledging receipt of the message transmitted to him in my letter.
