Mr Hwang Soo Jin asked the Minister for Communications whether there are adequate facilities to ensure the swift removal of underwater obstructions in the form of sunken hulls in the Singapore Harbour.
Mr Yong Nyuk Lin: Sir, in common with most major world ports, the Port of Singapore Authority does not operate its own salvage service but depends on the services of experienced professional salvors, of which there are a number operating in Singapore who can efficiently and effectively remove underwater obstructions and wrecks.
