Tuan Haji Mohd. Ariff Bin Suradi asked the Minister for Law and National Development why the small portion at the end of Jalan Yasin, where it meets Lorong Sarina, was left out when Jalan Yasin was made up under section 19 of the Local Government Integration Act.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Law and National Development (National Development Division) (Mr Ho Cheng Choon) (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the land between Jalan Yasin and Lorong Sarina is private property and not a road-reserve. When Jalan Yasin was made up, this portion was left out because it would have cost the frontager at Jalan Yasin an additional expenditure of $20,000. As the residents along these two roads already have access to either Changi Road or Jalan Eunos, the additional expenditure was considered not justified. The owner of this portion of Jalan Yasin will be required to make it up when he develops his land.
