Mr Teong Eng Siong asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether consideration would be given to provide a zebra crossing at Blocks 17 and 18, Marsiling.
Dr Tan Eng Liang (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, recent pedestrian traffic counts showed that there is no justification for providing a pedestrian crossing across Marsiling Lane at Apartment Blocks 17 and 18. Pedestrians will have little difficulty in crossing the road as there are sufficient gaps in the traffic flow to allow for it. However, it was found that a pedestrian crossing is required across Marsiling Road near its junction with Marsiling Lane. A suitable crossing, either zebra or push button crossing, would be provided at this location.
