EUNOS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE/EUNOS CRESCENT (Bus services)

Encik Wan Hussin Zoohri asked the Minister for Communications and Minister for Labour when the bus service within the Eunos Industrial Estate will operate and whether a decision has been made not to extend the bus service into the residential estate of Eunos Crescent.
The Minister for Communications and Minister for Labour (Mr Ong Teng Cheong): Sir, a new bus service linking Eunos Industrial Estate to SBS's terminal at Geylang Lorong 1 has been planned. The new service will be implemented when the bridge across the canal between the Eunos Industrial Estate and Paya Lebar Road is completed in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, workers in the ares can make use of the many services along Sims Avenue and Changi Road.
At the request of the hon, Member for Kampong Ubi and some of his CCC members on 28th March, 1981, SBS has agreed that, for safety and pollution reasons, the route will stop short of Eunos Crescent.
