Encik Saidi Haji Shariff asked the Minister for National Development whether there are plans to construct a pedestrian overhead bridge across Bedok North Road, in view of the increasing number of residents in Neighbourhoods 6 and 7 crossing the road daily, and, if so, when the bridge will be built.

The Minister of State for National Development (Mr Lee Yock Suan) (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, a pedestrian overhead bridge will be provided at Block 706, Bedok North Road. Tenders have been called. Construction is expected to begin in mid-1982 and work on the bridge will be completed by the end of 1982.
