Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for National Development when Hougang Avenue 3 will be linked to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

Mr Lee Yock Suan (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, Hougang Avenue 3 will be linked to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 by about the middle of 1984. The construction of the link, Hougang Avenue 2, is being carried out in two phases. Phase I is currently in progress and will be completed in March 1984. Work on Phase II, which is encumbered with squatters, is scheduled to commence in July 1983 and will be completed by June 1984.
