Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for Communications and Information whether the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation, in determining the fare structures, will consider (i) a one-fare sytem which will allow interchangeability in the mode of travel from bus to MRT train or vice versa to destination at fares affordable to commuters and (ii) concessional fares for senior citizens and the underprivileged.

The Minister for Communications and Information (Dr Yeo Ning Hong): Mr Speaker, Sir, with your permission, I shall be making a Ministerial Statement on the progress of the MRT. May I request the Member for Changi to ask his questions after the statement?
