Mr Leong Horn Kee asked the Minister for National Development whether a decision has been made to change the name of Bishan West Estate to Sin Ming Garden Estate and, if so, when the change will be implemented.

The Minister for National Development (Mr S. Dhanabalan): Mr Speaker, Sir, the name of Bishan West Estate will be changed to Sin Ming Garden Estate. The new name will apply from 15th April 1988.

Mr Leong Horn Kee (Thomson): Sir, will the Ministry make a press release so that all the residents in Bishan West Estate will know about this change?

Mr Dhanabalan: Yes, Mr Speaker.
