BEDOK NORTH ROAD (Upgrading of street lighting)

Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development whether the Public Works Department will upgrade the street lighting along Bedok North Road beginning from its junction with New Upper Changi Road.

Dr Lee Boon Yang (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the Public Works Department has an on-going programme to upgrade street lighting. The street lighting along Bedok North Road is scheduled to be upgraded in 1990.

In the meantime, Sir, the PWD has inspected the site at night and found some overgrown tree branches partially obstructing the street light. The Parks and Recreation Department has pruned these branches to provide temporary improvement.
