PRIMARY SAP SCHOOLS

Mr Goh Choon Kang asked the Minister for Education whether there is any plan to increase the number of primary SAP schools.

Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam: The Ministry of Education has identified 10 schools to implement the Primary SAP programme in 1990. We will use the experience gained by the 10 schools to see what lessons can be learned in the area of retention of core values which can be transmitted to other primary schools. We will consider increasing the number of primary SAP schools when we have evaluated the effectiveness of the programme.
