The following Question stood in the name of Mr Chew Heng Ching -
Mr Chew Heng Ching: To ask the Minister for Communications and Information whether there are plans to improve the feeder services in neighbourhoods 4 and 8 in Tampines New Town and in Neighbourhoods 1 and 4 in Pasir Ris New Town.

The Senior Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Communications and Information (Mr Ho Kah Leong) (for the Minister for Communications and Information): Mr Speaker, Sir, I am replying on behalf of my Minister.
Sir, bus routes are determined by bus companies subject to the approval of the Public Transport Council (PTC). I shall ask PTC and SBS to liaise with the Member on their plans to improve feeder services in Tampines and Pasir Ris New Towns.
Sir, may I take this opportunity to encourage Members of this House to hold discussions with their grassroots leaders and the bus operators to see how the bus services in their constituencies could be further improved. Such dialogues will assist PTC and the bus operators in the planning of bus services.
