PRIMARY 1 REGISTRATION EXERCISE IN NEW TOWN SCHOOLS

Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon asked the Minister for Education (a) how many primary schools in the new towns closed registration at Phase 2B and had no places left for registration of children under Phase 2C and where were parents of such children redirected to; and (b) in view of the increasing number of births since 1988, whether there will be sufficient schools in the new towns for children seeking entry into Primary I in the years to come.
