VACANT LANDS IN KAMPONG JAVA ESTATE (Development plans)

Dr Wong Kwei Cheong asked the Minister for National Development what are the development plans for the vacant lands in the vicinity of Kampong Java estate.

The Senior Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for National Development (Mr Lee Yiok Seng) (for the Minister for National Development): Sir, there are three parcels of vacant land in the immediate vicinity of Kampong Java Estate. The parcel next to Cambridge Primary School is tentatively earmarked for school use. The parcel next to Block 51 at Owen Road is earmarked for housing development. The parcel at the junction of Kent Road and Rangoon Road is approved for a PUB electrical substation.
