Mr Chia Shi Teck asked the Minister for Communications if he will give a breakdown of cars registered with weekend car Certificates of Entitlement, according to different engine capacity.

The Minister for Communications (Mr Mah Bow Tan): Sir, as at end August 1993, 9,786 cars have been registered as Weekend Cars since the start of the scheme in May 1991. Of these, almost 80% are medium or small cars with engine capacities 1600 cc and below.
