Mr Chia Shi Teck asked the Minister for Finance how many owners of private residential units had applied and were given property tax exemption on account of non- occupation from 1990 to 1993 annually.

Dr Richard Hu Tsu Tau: The total number of vacancy refunds for residential properties from 1990 to 1993 annually is as follows: 1990 1991 1992 1993 3,269 3,235 3,568 2,597

The figure for 1993 is incomplete as applications for exemption are still being processed by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
