RAIN SHELTERS FOR MOTORCYCLISTS ALONG EXPRESSWAYS

Mr R. Ravindran asked the Minister for Communications whether his Ministry will consider constructing rain shelters for motorcyclists along expressways.

Mr Mah Bow Tan: LTA has, wherever space permits, provided bays under the flyovers along the expressways, for motorcyclists to shelter from the rain without being endangered by traffic. So far, 35 of such bays have been constructed under the flyovers with another 4 in the pipeline. All new flyovers will incorporate these bays wherever space permits.
