Mr Chuang Shaw Peng asked the Minister for National Development if he will furnish statistics on the rates of increases/decreases in respect of public housing cost from 1988 to 1997.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang: The rates of change of public housing cost from 1987 to 1997 are shown in the table below. The average rate of increase for the unit development cost is about 10% p.a. (compounded) between 1987 and 1997.
