Dr Teo Ho Pin asked the Minister for Communications whether his Ministry can re-design the In-vehicle Unit (IU) so that the cash card can be concealed when inserted into the IU so as to prevent cash card thefts from cars.

Mr Mah Bow Tan: The most effective way of preventing car break-ins is to remove all valuables, including cash cards, from the cars when they are left unattended.

We will consider the Member's suggestion, along with all the other feedback received, when we design the next version of the IU.
