Public Housing Options for Singapore Unmarried Parents below Age 35

Mr David Ong asked the Minister for National Development (a) what are the types of public housing options available to single unmarried parents below the age of 35 years who have children; and (b) whether exemptions can be made for them to purchase HDB BTO or resale flats.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: They can apply to buy a Build-to-Order (BTO) flat from HDB with their parents. For those who wish to live on their own, HDB will, in exceptional circumstances, consider the appeal on a case-by-case basis.
