[Mr Speaker in the Chair]

The Chief Minister (Mr Lim Yew Hock): Mr Speaker, Sir, I feel that hon. Members would like to complete the business set down for today's sitting, and I therefore seek your consent and the assent of this House under Standing Order 23 to move a motion under Standing Order 7 (11) .

Mr Speaker: The Hon. the Chief Minister is, I think, aware that the Member for Queenstown has gained the right to speak on the Adjournment, and the effect of a resolution to suspend Standing Orders will automatically deprive the hon. Member of that right.

The Chief Minister: May I therefore raise this matter again, Sir, after the noon suspension?

Mr Speaker indicated assent.
