RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS

Mr Speaker: For the record, I have formally to announce to Honourable Members that on the 30th April, 1957, I received letters from the Member for Tanjong Pagar (Mr Lee Kuan Yew) and from the Member for Cairnhill (Mr David Marshall) resigning their seats in the Assembly.

In accordance with section 50 of the Singapore Colony Order in Council, 1955, I reported the vacancies thus created to His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government of Singapore.
