Mr John Ede asked the Minister for Commerce and Industry to what extent the Government have accepted the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry into the Port of Singapore (Sessional Paper No. S 10 of 1957); and whether he will make a statement on the Government's intentions regarding their implementation.
Mr J. M. Jumabhoy: The Report, Sir, is still under consideration by Government.
Mr John Ede: Mr Speaker, Sir, is the Hon. Minister aware that the Government is taking longer time to consider the recommendations than the Commission took to make them?
Mr J. M. Jumabhoy: I am aware of no such thing, Sir.
