The Minister for Labour and Law (Mr K. M. Byrne): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move the motion standing in my name*.

The Women's Charter Bill, 1960, was referred to a Select Committee in the last Session of this House. The Select Committee in its Report stated:

`Your Committee are of the opinion that, at this late period of the Session, it is not possible to bring their consideration of the Bill to a satisfactory conclusion. They have therefore agreed to present this report of the representations received and the Minutes of Evidence taken before them and to recommend that should a similar Bill be introduced in the next Session and should the Bill be committed to a Select Committee, this report be referred to that Select Committee for consideration.'

The Women's Charter Bill has been redrafted in the light of the representations made, and it has been introduced in this Session. As the Bill is being referred to a Select Committee, I move,

*That the Report of the Select Committee on the Women's Charter Bill presented to the Assembly in the previous session and contained in Paper L.A. 16 of 1960 be referred to the Select Committee on the Women's Charter Bill.

Question put, and agreed to. Resolved,

That the Report of the Select Committee on the Women's Charter Bill presented to the Assembly in the previous session and contained in Paper L.A. 16 of 1960 be referred to the Select Committee on the Women's Charter Bill.
