The Minister for Finance (Dr Goh Keng Swee): Sir, I beg to move,
That the Member for Queenstown is guilty of dishonourable conduct and abuse of privilege in that he did on the 14th day of June, 1963, in this House maliciously and falsely attack the integrity of the Minister for Finance by making the following statement:-
"I remember reading in the newspaper about the Minister for Finance going along to open the `National Tower' for the firm Matsushita or something like that. I do not know; may be the Minister has some vested interests in this, and it may be that because of this that the Minister has been running along, flying all the time to Japan and Tokyo.".
Sir -
Mr Speaker: Order. There is no debate: no speech. The motion stands referred to the Committee of Privileges under the provisions of paragraph 7 (d) (i) of Standing Order 93. The Minister for Finance will, of course, make his speech in the Committee of Privileges.
