DEMOLITION OF MALAY HOUSES IN GEYLANG SERAI

Inche Rahamat Bin Kenap asked the Minister for National Development whether the Government has any project to demolish Malay houses in the Geylang Serai area and replace them with an expanded housing programme.

No, the Government has at the moment no plans for expanding the Geylang Serai development or any intention to demolish the Malay houses in the Geylang Serai area. However, where new unauthorised houses are found, action for demolition will be taken.
