Mr Teong Eng Siong (Sembawang) rose ---
Mr Speaker: The Member for Sembawang has a personal explanation?
Mr Teong Eng Siong: (In Mandarin): Mr Speaker, I have a certain excerpt from a newspaper to quote to you. This quotation appears in the Malay Mail. The reporter is one Mr Harold Soh. In today's Malay Mail, on page 4, there is a report of the proceedings in the Committee of Supply of our Parliament. It said that the Member for Sembawang had produced a black-list of nurses and given it to the Minister for Health. In actual fact, it was wrong reporting, because I only gave the information which the Minister required of me. So I would like the paper concerned to correct the wrong reporting.
Mr Speaker: Part of the Member's translation did not come through to me on the ear-phone. Did the Member give the name and the date of the paper?
An hon. Member: The Malay Mail.
Mr Teong Eng Siong indicated assent.
Mr Speaker: The Member did. Very well.
Mr Teong Eng Siong: (In Mandarin): Mr Speaker, do you want me to repeat what I have said?
Mr Speaker: I just want to know the name of the paper and the date of the paper. It is perfectly in order.
