Mr Teong Eng Siong asked the Minister for Law and National Development whether there is any proposal to install street lighting along Old Thomson Road between 7½ m.s. and 9 m.s. and along Sembawang Road between 10 m.s. and 11 m.s., as street lighting could eliminate possible accidents at night along those stretches of roads which are dark and narrow.
Mr Ho Cheng Choon (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the short answer is yes. But they are likely to be implemented in the later part of the Five-Year Development Plan, in the case of Old Thomson Road between 7½ m.s. and 9 ms., the proposal is complicated by the fact that it forms part of the Grand Prix circuit.
