Mr Ng Yeow Chong asked the Minister for Law and National Development whether Government has any plan to construct fountains on or provide landscaping to the Mountbatten Road Circus (outside Kallang Park) and the Guillemard Road Circus, both of which are on the main traffic route between the City and the eastern part of the Republic.
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Law and National Development (National Development Division) (Mr Ho Cheng Choon) (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, there is no intention to build fountains at or to landscape Mountbatten Road Circus and Guillemard Road Circus as these two circuses will be affected by road and junction improvement by 1970 when work begins ,on the Kallang Sports Complex development. However, shrubs have been planted to beautify these two circuses.
