NATIONAL LIBRARY AND BRANCH LIBRARY IN QUEENSTOWN (Air-conditioning)

Mr L. P. Rodrigo asked the Minister for Culture whether the National Library will be entirely air-conditioned and whether the branch Library in Queenstown will also eventually be air-conditioned.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Culture (Inche Sha'ari Bin Tadin) (for the Minister for Culture): Mr Speaker, Sir, a sum of $51,750 is being provided in draft in the 1969 Development Estimates for air-conditioning of those areas in the National Library which are presently not air conditioned. For the information of the Member for Serangoon Gardens, provision has also been made in the building plan for the eventual air-conditioning of Queenstown Branch Library.
