Mr Ho Kah Leong asked the Minister for Finance if he will ascertain from the Jurong Town Corporation whether and when the Corporation will offer its flats in Jurong Town for sale to the public and under what conditions.

Mr Tang See Chim (for the Minister for Finance): Mr Speaker, Sir, it is the intention of the Jurong Town Corporation to sell some of the fiats now under construction to those working in Jurong Town. The conditions of sale will be similar to the home ownership scheme introduced by the Housing and Development Board. The Jurong Town Corporation took this decision in September 1968.
