Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether and when an overhead pedestrian crossing will be constructed across Tampines Way which is a dual carriage-way between Blocks 1 and 19.

Mr Lim Kim San: Tampines Way is a newly completed 3-lane dual carriageway linking Tampines Road and Upper Serangoon Road. Investigations have shown that traffic volume along this road is very light and the construction of an overhead pedestrian bridge is at present not justified. However, my Ministry will consider puffing up a zebra crossing at an appropriate site.
