Official Report, 21 September 1979, Vol 39, Issue 7 · Open in the reader (summaries, search, filters)
Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development why there is no provision for pedestrian crossing facilities for the daily use of approximately thirty families at Lorong Lodeh to safely and conveniently cross the Pan-island Expressway where it cuts across Lorong Lodeh.
Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Mr Speaker, Sir, the Pan-island Expressway at Lorong Lodeh is now under construction and will not be completed until early 1981. There is at present a temporary access for residents to cross the construction site to Lorong Tebera or Jalan Somapah Timor opposite. When the Expressway is opened, residents will be able to cross the Expressway by an alternative access route at the Expressway's junction with Upper Changi Road. The Public Works Department will monitor this pedestrian traffic and, if the volume justifies it, consideration will be given to the construction of a pedestrian bridge across the Expressway at Lorong Lodeh.
