[Mr Speaker in the Chair]

Dr Koh Lip Lin asked the Prime Minister when the People's Association will set up a community centre in Neighbourhood Six of Ang Mo Kio New Town.

The Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office (Mr Lee Khoon Choy) (for the Prime Minister): Mr Speaker, Sir, I have been asked by the Prime Minister to reply on his behalf.

A site has been reserved at Ang Mo Kio Street 61, Neighbourhood Six of Ang Mo Kio New Town, for the building of a new community centre. It is scheduled for construction in FY 82. However, pending the construction of the new centre, the People's Association has rented from the Housing and Development Board a shop unit at Block 151 in Neighbourhood Six for conversion into a temporary community centre. As soon as it has been converted, the centre will be open to the residents.
