Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development whether the Housing and Development Board will convert the vacant land in the vicinity of Blocks 74 to 77, Bedok North Road, into a children's playground, complete with recreational facilities such as slides and swings, for the benefit of children residing in Blocks 74 to 83 as presently they have to cross the road to use the nearest playground.
Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Sir, the Housing and Development Board has already provided two children's playgrounds to serve the residents of Blocks 74 to 83, Bedok New Town. They are located in front of Block 83 and between Blocks 78 and 79, and are within short walking distance. There is no necessity to provide an additional playground.
The vacant land adjacent to Blocks 74 to 77 is to be allocated to the PUB for use as a water-collection pond.
