The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Education (Mr Ho Kah Leong) (for the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education): Mr Speaker, Sir, I have been asked by my Minister to reply.
Construction of the new primary school at the junction of Telok Blangah Road and Golf Club Road in Telok Blangah Constituency is in progress and the school is expected to be completed in April 1984.

The new primary school being built in Telok Blangah Constituency is of 1980 model. It will have the following standard facilities:-
(a) 36 classrooms;
(b) three second-language rooms, two art and craft rooms, two audio-visual aid rooms, two music rooms and one science room;
(c) a library, hall, canteen, sick bay, dental clinic, bookshop, kitchenette, two extra-curricular activities rooms and three store-rooms;
(d) a football field, basketball court and volleyball court; and
(e) administrative offices including Principal's and Vice-Principal's rooms, staff lounge and staff room.
Mr Rohan bin Kamis (Telok Blangah): Mr Speaker, Sir, when will this decision be made so that work can start for the second primary school in my Constituency?
Mr Ho Kah Leong: Sir, work will start as soon as a decision is reached that schools in Singapore should go full-day.
