Mr Goh Chee Wee asked the Minister for National Development if his Ministry has drawn up specific plans to provide centralized lorry and heavy vehicle parking lots in or around all housing estates and whether such centralized parking lots will be constructed within or fringing Boon Lay Garden Estate.

Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Sir, as at December 1984, a total of 11 lorry parks with 1,873 lots have been constructed at the fringe of various HDB estates. Three more lorry parks with 567 lots are now under construction at Defu, North Buona Vista and Jurong Stadium. The lorry park at Jurong Stadium will serve the Jurong area, including Boon Lay Garden Estate. It will have 256 lots and will be ready in April 1985.
