Encik Othman bin Haron Eusofe asked the Minister for Education whether and when a primary school will be built in the Geylang Serai Constituency.
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education (Mr Tang Guan Seng) (for the Minister for Education): Mr Speaker, Sir, I shall reply on behalf of my Minister.
The two existing primary schools in the Geylang Serai Constituency (namely, Maha Bodhi and Geylang Methodist Primary Schools) provide sufficient capacity to meet demand for school places. The Ministry has no plan at present to build another primary school in the Geylang Serai Constituency.
Encik Othman bin Haron Eusofe (Geylang Serai): Is there a land or site for a primary school in the Constituency?
Mr Tang Guan Seng: Yes.
