Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development whether a separate lane can be constructed for taxis currently queuing up along one lane of Airport Boulevard as they await arriving passengers at the Changi Airport.

The Minister of State for National Development (Dr Lee Boon Yang) (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, currently, the taxis queuing up along one lane of Airport Boulevard do not cause congestion along the road. There is no need to construct a new lane specially for taxis to queue up.

Mr Teo Chong Tee (Changi): Sir, will these taxis queuing along Airport Boulevard pose a hazard to oncoming traffic?

Dr Lee Boon Yang: Sir, since they are not causing any congestion along Aiport Boulevard at the moment, they are not posing any hazard to other road users.
