Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development what is the future development plan for the vacant land at the junction of Bedok North Road and New Upper Changi Road.
The Minister of State for National Development (Mr Peter Sung)(for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, a portion of the land in question is earmarked for a school and the remaining for housing.
Mr Teo Chong Tee (Changi): Two days ago I heard from the Senior Minister of State for Education that no schools will be built in Changi. Why is there a site reserved for school building programme?
My second question is that I want to find out from the Minister of State what kind of housing development is going to take place on this land?
Mr Peter Sung: Mr Speaker, Sir, the land is reserved for a school. It is a reserve.
What sort of housing? We will give the Member more details if he would like to put up another question for oral answer.
