Dr S. Vasoo asked the Minister for National Development whether the scheme to encourage more low income families to become homeowners has been finalised.

The Minister of State for National Development (Mr Lim Hng Kiang) (for the Minister for National Development): Sir, I am answering on behalf of the Minister for National Development.

The Ministry of National Development and the Housing and Development Board are currently reviewing existing financial assistance schemes, such as the Low Income Family Incentive Scheme, to enable more low income families to own HDB flats.

The review is nearing completion. Details will be announced in the second half of this year.
