Mr Charles Chong asked the Minister for Education if there are any plans to increase the number of primary and secondary schools in Pasir Ris New Town.

The Minister of State for Education (Dr Ker Sin Tze)(for the Minister for Education): Sir, at present, Pasir Ris has a primary school and two secondary schools. My Ministry is building a new primary school and a new secondary school at Pasir Ris Street 21, which will both open this year, as well as a new primary school at Pasir Ris Drive 1 which will be completed next year.

My Ministry will continue to monitor the demand for school places and build more schools when demand justifies it.
