Dr Kanwaljit Soin asked the Minister for Finance what is the health bill to the Government per annum of (i) civil servants and (ii) their dependants and what percentage of the payroll does the total bill constitute.
Dr Richard Hu Tsu Tau: The total health bill to Government of civil servants and their dependants in FY 92 was $29.44 million, of which about 60% was spent on civil servants and the remaining 40% on dependants. The total bill constituted 1.43% of the payroll.
