Mr Speaker, Sir, we are facing a period of historic transformation of Asian economies. The region is taking off. Excellent opportunities abound. We, in Singapore, must seize the moment or risk being left behind. If our businesses explore the opportunities abroad, if they capitalise on our supportive and conducive fiscal environment; and if our people continue to be dynamic, daring and outward looking, we should be able to move forward in this sea of change. I am confident that with guts, gumption and enterprise, we will stay ahead and prosper. [Applause].

Mr Speaker: The Question is, "That Parliament approves the financial policy of the Government for the financial year 1st April, 1995 to 31st March, 1996." In accordance with paragraph (1) of Standing Order No. 86, the debate now stands adjourned.

Debate to be resumed on what day, Dr Hu?

Dr Richard Hu Tsu Tau: Monday, 13th March, 1995, Sir.

Mr Speaker: So be it.
