Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for Communications whether the Land Transport Authority will consider providing public car parks in Loyang Industrial Estate, Changi North and Changi South Industrial Estates.

Mr Mah Bow Tan: Factories in the Loyang, Changi North and Changi South industrial estates have to comply with our minimum car parking provisions, which were set to meet parking demand in general. However, in specific areas where demand is exceptionally high, LTA will work with URA to consider adding public surface car parks or kerbside parking lots. An example is the provision of public parking lots along some under-used roads in Kallang Industrial Estate and Sungei Kadut/Kranji Industrial Estates. If the Member could let me know exactly the locations where parking is a problem, I will ask LTA to look into them.
