COMMITTEE OF SELECTION:
(Appointment of Members): 6.05 pm
The Leader of the House (Mr Wong Kan Seng): Mr Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,
That this Parliament, in accordance with paragraph (1) of Standing Order No. 100, appoints the following as Members of the Committee of Selection:
Mr S. Iswaran
Dr Amy Khor Lean Suan
Dr Lee Boon Yang
Dr Ong Seh Hong

Ms Jessica Tan Soon Neo
Mr Wong Kan Seng
Mr Matthias Yao Chih.
Sir, we need to have this Committee of Selection in order that we can appoint the other Standing Committees of Parliament, for example, the Public Accounts Committee, the Estimates Committee, the Committee of Privileges, and if afterwards Parliament approves the motion to have Nominated Members of Parliament, it will also appoint a Special Select Committee on Nominations for Appointment of Nominated Members of Parliament.
Resolved,
That this Parliament, in accordance with paragraph (1) of Standing Order No. 100, appoints the following as Members of the Committee of Selection:
Mr S. Iswaran
Dr Amy Khor Lean Suan
Dr Lee Boon Yang
Dr Ong Seh Hong
Ms Jessica Tan Soon Neo
Mr Wong Kan Seng
Mr Matthias Yao Chih.
