Mr John Ede asked the Minister for Labour and Welfare whether he will state the number of private Provident Fund schemes established between 11th December, 1953, and 29th June, 1955, and the total number of employees who were members of such funds.

Mr Lim Yew Hock: The number of private provident fund or insurance schemes established between 11th December, 1953, and 29th June, 1955, for which application for approval was made under section 21 (2) of the Central Provident Fund Ordinance was 2,779, covering 19,519 employees.
