MALAYANISATION COMMISSION (Expression of appreciation) (Statement by the Chief Minister)

[Mr Speaker in the Chair]

The Chief Minister (Mr D. S. Marshall): If it please you, Sir, I should like to take this last opportunity I have to express the deep appreciation of the Government for the magnificent work done by Dr. Srinivasan and his colleagues on the Malayanisation Commission. It is not usual to make such a statement in the House, Sir, but the work was of considerable complexity and it was magnificently done, and I feel that this tribute is not too much at this time and place. I would like to place on the record how much we appreciate the manner and the speed with which they have done their work.
