OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TAKEN BY THE HON. MR OON KHYE KIANG

Mr Speaker: I have to inform Honourable Members that I received a report dated the 30th August, 1958, from His Lordship the Acting Chief Justice of Singapore, Mr Tan Ah Tah, informing me that the Honourable Mr Oon Khye Kiang, Acting Financial Secretary, took and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance before him on the 30th August, 1958. This was done under the provisions of paragraph (3) of Standing Order No. 1 (Oath of Allegiance) in order to enable the Honourable Member to attend and take part in proceedings of the Estimates Committee held between the time of his becoming a Member of this Assembly and this sitting.
