Mr Byrne (for the Minister for Finance): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move, "That the Bill be now read a Second time."

The object of this Bill is to divest from the ambit of the Telegraphs Ordinance certain matters mainly relating to the licensing of broadcasting stations and broadcasting apparatus by the insertion of a new section to the principal Ordinance. The amendment that this Bill seeks to make to the principal Ordinance is purely consequential to the Broadcasting and Television Bill which provides for the separate control of broadcasting and television services and which has just been dealt with by this House a few minutes ago.

Sir, I beg, to move.

Bill accordingly read a Second time and, committed to a Committee of the whole Assembly.

Assembly immediately resolved itself into a Committee on the Bill. - [Mr Byrne].

Bill considered in Committee; reported without amendment; read a Third time and passed.
